A PUB in Kirkintilloch has reopened today (March 29) following a £1.7 million refit by owner JD Wetherspoon.
The Kirky Puffer had been closed since November 2017 for the project, which included the demolition of the neighbouring property to extend the pub.
The opening came as Wetherspoon reported a 6.1% increase in like-for-like sales for the 26 weeks to January 28, 2018; while total sales rose 3.6% to £830.4 million.
Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin said the firm “remains cautious” about the second half of the year.
“The company anticipates higher costs in the second half of the financial year, in areas including pay, taxes and utilities,” he said.
