A NEW owner is at the helm of a waterfront hotel in the Argyll village of Ardrishaig, near Lochgilphead.

The Grey Gull Inn, which overlooks Loch Gilp and Loch Fyne with the Crinan Canal to the rear of the property, was acquired by an experienced operator for an undisclosed sum in a deal brokered by Smith & Clough; the property had been marketed at offers over £499,000.

The hotel, which is on the main A83 route, comprises 24 en suite letting rooms, a lounge, 50-cover bar restaurant and conference room, as well as a beer garden and owner’s accommodation.

Graeme Smith of Smith & Clough said while the hotel “benefitted from all year round business”, it “still offers scope to increase turnover”.
