DRINKS wholesaler Bear Smyth has launched a new sparkling wine in a can, designed to meet customer demand for single-serve fizz.
Mr & Mrs Smyth’s Primo Vino Semi Sparkling Wine has been produced for Bear Smyth by an Italian Prosecco manufacturer and has an ABV of 11%.
The firm has already taken orders for the product from the SSE Hydro in Glasgow and two other arenas in the UK.
Gerry Smyth, founder of Bear Smyth, said: “We expect the demand to become incredible once we launch as the product has so many advantages across various different situations.
“There is a massive move towards cans in the drinks industry, including in premium markets.
“We’ve given the can a premium look, which has been praised in our research with focus groups.”
