Firms branch out with baubles

Glass baubles filled with Scotch whisky

TWO Scottish firms have teamed up to create a new, must-have Christmas product for whisky lovers – glass baubles filled with Scotch whisky.

The product is the result of a collaboration between Stirling-based Angels’ Share Glass, which makes whisky-related glass products, and independent bottler Douglas Laing & Co.

There are four different hand-blown coloured glass baubles available for connoisseurs to buy, each filled with 50ml of one of the regional whiskies from Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malts range.

The orange bauble is filled with Big Peat, a blend of single malts from Islay, while the green contains Timorous Beastie from the Highlands.

The red bauble contains Speyside blend Scallywag and the gold ornament comes with a dram of Rock Oyster, a mixture of malts from Scotland’s whisky islands.

Jenny Rogerson of Douglas Laing & Co said: “Our family business is all about quality and craftsmanship.

“We’re looking forward to decorating our own Christmas tree with these beautifully hand-crafted glass baubles and pouring and sharing festive drams of our Remarkable Regional Malts.”
