Slight dip for RTDs


THE ready to drink (RTD) category suffered a slight decline in value last year, dipping by around 2% to a value of £29.5 million.

But it was a good year for leading brand WKD, which increased sales to £9.2m.

The SHS Drinks-owned brand also rose to become the 36th most popular brand overall.

Crabbie’s alcoholic ginger beer keeps its place as the second most popular RTD, rising one place in the overall brands list to 42nd.

RTD heavyweight VK holds its place in third, while veteran Smirnoff Ice comes in at fourth and Ginger Grouse rounds off the top five.
