New owner banks on eatery

A RESTAURANT close to Edinburgh’s financial district has changed hands in a deal brokered by Cornerstone Business Agents.

Located on the western end of Morrison Street, near Haymarket train station, The Atelier was sold for an undisclosed sum from a guide price of £70,000 for the leasehold.
With capacity for 35 covers, the eatery is fitted to “an exceptional standard”, according to the agent.

The business is said to attract a high level of passing trade; it is also said to be benefitting from the ongoing redevelopment of the area, including the transformation of the former Morrison Street car park into a mixed use leisure, retail and office space.

Barry McNeil, director of Cornerstone Business Agents, said the level of development in recent years means the area is “prime for new and exciting bars, restaurants and coffee shops”.
