Time to draught in berry cider?

CIDER producer Westons has added a new berry-flavoured variant to its Mortimer’s Orchard premium cider range.
Mortimer’s Orchard – English Berry Cider makes its debut this month and is available exclusively on draught.
It is described as a 4% ABV sparkling, berry-coloured cider made with a blend of bittersweet, sharp and sweet apples, and is matured in oak vats before being blended with berry fruits.

Tessa Holden, brand manager for Mortimer’s Orchard, said the new premium variant “adds further breadth to the top end of the cider market”.

“We are really excited to be launching Mortimer’s Orchard – English Berry Cider in time for summer,” said Holden.
“The launch follows our market insight and research which has identified that whilst draught fruit cider is growing spectacularly at 85% year-on-year, there is a limited super-premium offering within draught fruit cider.”
The new variety, Holden said, will “help to establish a super-premium segment within draught fruit cider” as well as helping drive further growth of the Mortimer’s Orchard brand and attracting new consumers to the category.
