C&C Group has released a new dark fruit variant of its Magners cider in time for summer.
Described as a “fruitier alternative” to the original, Magners Dark Fruit is said to contain notes of rich berries and sharp blackcurrants.
The 4% ABV fruit cider has been available exclusively on draught in the on-trade since last month.
C&C Group said that while apple cider still accounts for 83% of all draught cider sold in the UK, there is growing demand for a greater variety of draught cider.
Janette Murray, Magners marketing manager, said there is “room on the bar for a new fruit cider and people want more choice in draught cider”.
“Magners Dark Fruit offers cider drinkers a fruitier alternative to draught apple cider, and we’re sure a chilled pint of Magners Dark Fruit will be a welcome addition to any beer garden this summer,” said Murray.
