Marital move for hotel business

THE Seamill Hydro Hotel in West Kilbride has completed works on a new £5 million wedding venue following a £2.5 million cash injection from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

The newly built Firth Pavilion comprises a function suite, hotel reception, foyer, and grand entrance atrium tower to cater for both weddings and conferences within the hotel.

It is forecast that the newly built suite will cater for around 100 weddings in 2017 and in excess of 120 in 2018; it is said to be “delivering significant revenue growth for the hotel”, as well as creating new jobs.

It also builds upon the hotel’s existing accommodation, which has grown to include 80 bedrooms, a sea-view restaurant and various leisure facilities.

Sylvester Sweeney, partner and head of the development team at Seamill Hydro Hotel, said: “The development of the new venue is a natural step for us to take, and the support from Santander has been key.

“There has been a relentless focus to build what we believe is the ultimate wedding experience including a stunning honeymoon suite with views of the First of Clyde over to the Isle of Arran.”
