Managing a successful course

THE first graduate of an Aberdeen hotel’s trainee management programme is set to take up a management role within the business.
Having completed The Chester Hotel’s programme, Joanne Black (pictured above, right, with hotel GM Chris Quinn-Waugh) has been appointed conference and banqueting manager at the hotel. The two-and-a-half-year programme sees participants spend time in each department of the hotel and is designed for people with an ambition to become a general manager.
Black said the programme “has not only provided me with the skills needed to be successful in a management position, but it has developed my confidence, especially as someone with no previous management experience”.
