HEINEKEN has marked a milestone in its partnership with the SSE Hydro in Glasgow with the sale of its millionth pint of Foster’s.
The brewer has been the official beer and cider supplier to the Hydro since the venue opened in 2013. Following the success of the partnership Heineken has extended the contract for a further five years.
Recent investment from the firm has included commissioning artist Frank Carty to design bespoke Foster’s branding for each of the SSE Hydro bar areas. The artwork features several well-known Scottish landmarks, including the Duke of Wellington statue in Glasgow and Edinburgh Castle.
“We’re delighted to have reached the milestone of a million pints of Foster’s sold at the SSE Hydro,” said John Gemmell, Scotland trading director at Heineken.
“The success of the lager at the SSE Hydro is testament to what you can achieve when you work collaboratively with customers, as we have done with the great team at the SSE Hydro to create a truly excellent experience for visitors.
“We’re dedicated to helping our customers give their guests the best possible experience at the bar, making their visit enjoyable and memorable, and we hope many more visitors to the venue in the year ahead enjoy their experience with our much-loved amber nectar.”
Heineken will promote the partnership this year through competitions for Hydro visitors.
