LIVINGSTON-based Alechemy Brewing Co has joined forces with Glasgow-based Catalyst Drinks in a share deal designed to “take the company to the next level”.
The six-figure deal will see Alechemy relocate to larger premises in Livingston, twice the size of its previous space, early this year, allowing it to increase production of its keg and cask beers and can and bottle its beers on site.
Founded by scientist James Davies in 2012, Alechemy employs ten people and produces beers including Ritual Pale Ale, 5ive Sisters Red IPA and Bad Day At The Office IPA.
Catalyst Drinks, meanwhile, is an investment business founded by drinks industry veteran Jim Young, who has held positions at companies that include Scottish & Newcastle, Belhaven, Tennent’s and craft beer bar operator Due North Group.
