Beer’s heritage comes to fore

Czeching out brewer’s provenance-focused site

Czech brewer Budweiser Budvar has launched a new consumer website which aims to highlight the provenance of the brand.

The site, which was developed by Budweiser Budvar in conjunction with the Czech tourism board, introduces visitors to both the brewery and the Czech Republic in general through a number of stories from locals.

The team behind Budvar wants to bring in new consumers with its storytelling activity.

Budvar’s czechstories.com domain initially launched with stories including: How to Make the Perfect Goulash; Bohemian Rhapsody, focusing on a road trip through the Bohemia region of the Czech Republic; Behind the Mask, the story of a local mask-making tradition; and The Man Behind the Beer, which tells the story of Budweiser Budvar from the perspective of the brand’s resident beer sommelier.
Simon George, sales director for Budweiser Budvar UK, said customers “appreciate Budvar’s key qualities and why it tastes so great – namely the brewery’s unrelenting commitment to quality ingredients and the 102-day brewing process”.
“We want to expand on this knowledge with our existing fan base and bring in new consumers through the storytelling activity, to help them appreciate the wider beauty of southern Bohemia,” said George.
