New jewels for Crown Cellars

Crown Cellars xguideThe wine and spirits division of Carlsberg has launched its new portfolio.
Crown Cellars’ 2016/17 wines and spirits collection is said to have been selected based on quality credentials, customer feedback and trends in the market.

More than 200 wines are said to have been tasted by a panel, which included wine buyer Louise Boddington, spirits buyer Katie Hewitt and Crown Cellars’ master of wine Jonathan Pedley, before 21 were chosen to join the 2016/17 portfolio, which is said to include over 700 wines and spirits. Of the wines in the portfolio, more than 135 are available exclusively to the on-trade.
Crown Cellars said the new portfolio is designed to respond to the trend for “premiumisation” which is happening across the trade, as well as the “phenomenal growth” within the gin category.
Paul Waller, director of customer service and third party brands, said: “We have been supplying the on-trade for over 20 years and we recognise that a tailored, personal approach is key. With this in mind, we have further expanded our team this year, which means we have more people supporting our customers and helping them to drive wine and spirit sales.
“We are passionately committed to investing in our people, enabling us to continue to deliver market-leading support.”
