Thousands of on-trade wholesale customers have been given access to a new online ordering system as the distribution arm of Tennent’s ramps up its digital presence.

Hundreds of operators across Scotland are already said to be taking advantage of the new Tennent’s Direct system, which allows publicans to place an order at any time of day or night, and choose from more than 2000 beer, cider, wine and spirits brands.
And Tennent’s is aiming to sign up hundreds more in the coming weeks.
The new system is said to have been designed to give operators the convenience of 24/7 access as well as customer support and promotional offers.

Alan Hay, on-trade sales director at Tennent’s, said the firm prides itself “on our commitment to supporting Scotland’s hospitality industry” and the launch of Tennent’s Direct represents “a further example of this”.
“Given its convenience and obvious benefit for customers, we look forward to welcoming many more of our customers to Tennent’s Direct in the months ahead and will continue to update and improve the functionality of the system to meet our customers’ needs,” said Hay.
“As a brand-led wholesale business we’re able to offer a true one stop shop and excellent customer service to the licensed trade and with the added convenience of Tennent’s Direct, there’s no reason to go anywhere else.”
The launch of the Tennent’s Direct system follows Tennent’s parent firm C&C Group’s acquisition of wholesaler Wallaces Express in March 2014. The combined Wallaces TCB business was rebranded as Tennent’s in February of this year.
