A restaurant business in Edinburgh has changed hands for the first time in over 25 years.
MacKenzies Restaurant, a cottage-style property located in Colinton, has been leased to new operators to allow owners Mike Fraser and Dave Coulson to focus on their outside catering business, which is run from Boroughmuir Rugby Club.
Since acquiring the property, new operators Leonardo Bebri and Mari Brown have rebranded the restaurant as The Cottage Bistro, which is said to be proving popular with the existing customer base from MacKenzies Restaurant as well as attracting new clientele.
The restaurant, which can accommodate 60 covers, has also undergone a recent refurbishment as part of the rebrand.
The sale of the property was handled by The Restaurant Agency, and the business is now operating on a new 15 year lease.
Alan Goldie, director at The Restaurant Agency, said he is “delighted” to have been involved in the sale of the business.
“We wish new operators Leonardo Bebri and Mari Brown every success in their new venture,” said Goldie.
“They wasted no time in rebranding to The Cottage Bistro and after a short period of refurbishment are now enjoying a daily flow of business.”
