The firm has set aside £474,000 of a £2 million investment in its Scottish estate specifically for the development of beer gardens.
Outside areas will be developed at 13 Scottish pubs, which will increase the capacity at each outlet; and a further six pubs will benefit from new signage and decoration.
One of the finished projects, at Gretna Green pub the Hazeldene (pictured), saw £40,000 invested  in its outside area. Part of a £220,000 investment in the venue, the project added a 40-cover deck and a retractable canopy.
Lawson Mountstevens, managing director of Star Pubs & Bars, said: “These projects will meet customer demand for al fresco dining and boost pubs’ capacity for a relatively low spend.”
