Edinburgh-based Caledonian Brewery has launched its latest seasonal guest ale, which is available from now until May.
Caledonian Brewery’s First Dawn is a golden pale ale with tasting notes that describe it as having “spicy aromas” and “dark and soft fruit flavours”, combined to “create a delicate, fresh and zesty finish”.
The 3.7% ABV spring ale was brewed using two American hops, Chinook and Summit, both said to have citric and “piney” qualities.
Craig Steven, Caledonian’s beer manager, said that entering a new season “calls for a new beer”.
“The days are getting longer and brighter, and this wonderfully bright golden ale reflects the season,” he said.
“It’s a beautifully light and zesty spring ale. Its spice aroma and notes of dark soft fruit make this ale an ideal match with seasonal foods such as roast lamb and pork, and a great accompaniment to Sunday roasts.”
