Sparkling wine is set to shine this festive season, according to wine supplier Kingsland Drinks.
Pete Fairclough, brand manager at Kingsland Drinks, whose range includes Famille Castel Cuvée Blanche and Famille Castel Cuvée Rosé, claims there has been strong growth in sparkling wines, with Prosecco the main driver. And he reckons the trend is set to continue, advising operators to stock up on sparkling wines for the festive period.
“Prosecco has become a very strong brand, thanks to its awareness and equity,” he said. “While there is no sign of this abating in a short to medium time frame, there are still pressures on availability and cost. As a result, retailers may start to explore credible sparkling alternatives.
“Consumers’ hunger for a variety of engaging sparkling wines provides a great opportunity for all retailers. With our new carbonation line, Kingsland can bring these sparkling propositions to market.”
