Pubs are the family favourite

PUBS are a “clear favourite” for families, with nearly a third choosing to visit them when eating out, according to a new report.
The research, commissioned by potato supplier Aviko, highlighted the pub sector’s efforts to “align itself” with the family market in recent years, offering “family-friendly environments and value for money meal deals”, as a key factor in boosting pubs’ popularity with families.

When it comes to other influences, families remain “very price sensitive”, the research claimed, with 67% of respondents citing price as a “key motivator in choosing where to eat”. Also high on the agenda is the variety of food on offer with 65% of consumers stating that the menu options available influence where they dine out.

Aviko general manager for the UK and Ireland, Mohammed Essa, said: “Pubs are the clear favourite when it comes to deciding where to dine, with value for money an important driver and families choosing price over other factors such as menu choices and location.”
