A NOVEL opportunity to take on a ten-bedroom hotel with bar and restaurant in Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries & Galloway, is being marketed by property firm Colliers International.
The Ship Inn, said to be the venue in which author Dorothy L Sayers wrote crime novel The Five Red Herrings, is on the market as a retirement sale.
Current owners Jim and Helen Stewart, who acquired the business in 2005, are said to have extensively refurbished the late 18th century building during their ten-year tenure.
Alistair Letham of Colliers said the property is a “quite delightful, very well-established village inn of an excellent standard”.
Colliers International is inviting offers around ÂŁ395,000.
