THREE hotels in the north and west of Scotland which were part of coach holiday provider David Urquhart Group are on the market.

The Glenmorag Hotel in Dunoon, the Garve Hotel in the Ross-shire village of Garve and Mackays hotel in Strathpeffer, which together comprised the David Urquhart Group-owned Hart Hotels, are for sale as a portfolio or individually.

All three hotels have ceased trading and are said to offer scope for development.

Set in 12 acres overlooking its own private gardens and the Firth of Clyde, the Glenmorag Hotel in Dunoon occupies a Victorian mansion house and comprises 71 letting rooms as well as a range of dining and bar areas.

Further north, Mackays Hotel in Strathpeffer is described as an “easily-managed tourist business” which offers an “ideal base” for guests to explore the Highlands and Wester Ross. The hotel has 54 bedrooms, dining, bar and function areas, and a leisure club with swimming pool.

Around eight miles along the A835 route, the 46-bedroom Garve Hotel (pictured above) is set in five acres next to the Black Water river; it’s said to be “perfectly-positioned” on the North Coast 500 route.

The three hotels are being marketed by Colliers International in collaboration with Graham & Sibbald.

Robert Smithson, of the hotels team at Colliers International, said: “All three hotels are well-located and offers are being invited for the portfolio or for the hotels individually.”
