The firm, whose outlets include Holyrood 9a and Red Squirrel in Edinburgh and Drouthy’s and Duke’s Corner in Dundee, opened OX184 in the former Capital bar and club on Cowgate following a refurbishment, on which it worked with Edinburgh-based architects KBA&D. The new venue came after Fuller Thomson, which was set up in 2005 by Gordon Fuller and Gary Thomson, secured an £850,000 funding package from Bank of Scotland.

Thomson said Cowgate was a “natural” location for the company’s latest outlet. “It’s a really exciting time to be based on the Cowgate, which has been going through a period of rejuvenation following the opening of a number of new sites in the area,” he said.

Bank of Scotland’s Paul McWilliams said: “The team at Fuller Thomson has shown real commitment to creating unique venues right across Edinburgh and we are pleased to support the business as it continues to go from strength to strength.”
