CONTRACT catering firm Sodexo is backing the Scottish Government’s Year of Food and Drink initiative by introducing a series of monthly themed menus at its venues across Scotland.

Scheduled to run over the course of the year, the menus will aim to highlight sectors within Scotland’s food and drink industry through themes such as ‘summer berries and fruits’ in July and ‘sustainable shores’ in October.

Sodexo is responsible for catering at 22 Scottish venues through its Prestige Venues & Events division, including the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh and Balmoral Castle.

The group plans to incorporate the monthly themes into menus “wherever possible” at the venues including through the food available in their restaurants and cafes.

Amanda Brown, national accounts director for Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, said the company has a duty to support the Year of Food and Drink.

“The year ahead will no doubt be very busy for us at Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, but we are looking forward to celebrating and highlighting some of the world’s finest produce,” she said.
