Brand set to create a spectacle in on-trade

READY to drink (RTD) brand WKD looks set to make a spectacle in the on-trade with the launch of its ‘The WeeKenD Starts Here’ campaign this autumn.

SHS Drinks, the firm behind the RTD brand, will be giving consumers the chance to win pairs of light up ‘shutter-shades’ through a scratch card promotion as well as providing operators with in-outlet support.
Activity in participating outlets will include promotional POS and a range of cocktail pitcher recipes.
Promoted under the ‘Made for Sharing’ banner, the cocktails combine WKD variants, spirits and soft drink mixers. Seven multi-serve pitchers are being promoted, including WKD Schnapperday Night Fever (WKD Red, peach schnapps, apple juice, ice); WKD Iron Brewtiful (WKD Iron Brew, spiced rum, lemonade, ice) and WKD Slushy Peas (WKD Green, raspberry liqueur, lemonade, ice); the promotional pack also includes a guide for staff on how to mix the drinks.
Debs Carter, marketing director for alcohol at SHS Drinks, said: “Our shutter-shades will generate some extra fun in outlets in Scotland and our sharing cocktails are sure to go down well amongst groups of friends over the coming months.”
