SCOTS golfer Sam Torrance has underlined his partnership with Caledonia Best with the launch of the ale brand’s ‘Golfing Heaven’ campaign.

The new initiative invites consumers to submit their dream golfing four-ball line-up and destination via the brand’s website by entering a unique code found on scratchcards and promotional packs. The competition is open until August 31 when one winner will be chosen.
The winner and two friends will then join Caledonia Best ‘clubhouse captain’ Torrance for a four-ball at the Valderrama Club in southern Spain, the host venue for the 1997 Ryder Cup.
Paul Condron, marketing director for Tennent Caledonian Breweries, the firm behind Caledonia Best, said sports sponsorships are “incredibly important to Caledonia Best”.
“We’re pleased to be able to use promotions like this to connect with consumers and we’re expecting a great response,” said Condron.
“The promotion is a fantastic opportunity for consumers to play with Sam at an iconic, exotic, top-class course. I’m sure the Caledonia Best Golfing Heaven campaign will really capture their imaginations with a once in a lifetime prize on offer.”
Torrance, who will act as vice-captain of the European team at this year’s Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, said: “For Scottish golf fans to get the chance to test themselves on one of the most iconic courses in Europe, if not the world, is fantastic and I’m sure it will be an unforgettable experience for them.”
