PAUL Kitching, chef proprietor of Edinburgh restaurant 21212, picked up the Restaurant Chef Award at the recent 2014 Craft Guild of Chefs Awards.

Kitching was presented with the gong at a gala awards dinner in London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel earlier this month. More than 650 guests attended the awards which recognised chefs across the industry over 17 categories.
“I’m thrilled to have been awarded this prestigious accolade,” said Kitching.
“It’s a fantastic feeling to get recognised for what we’re doing here at 21212.
“It has been a spectacular event and to top it all off with the Restaurant Chef Award is truly an honour. I try to enhance the whole dining experience for our guests as much as I possibly can and I do this by introducing a range of distinctive flavours, ingredients and techniques.”
