OVER 2000 workers from Glasgow’s tourism and hospitality sector are said to have signed up to an online training programme ahead of this summer’s Commonwealth Games.

The Glasgow Welcomes Online programme costs £5 per person and takes two hours to complete. It has been created to help venues improve levels of customer service ahead of the Games and includes information on Glasgow’s tourist attractions as well as facts and figures on venues and dates.
Steve Callaghan, project manager for Glasgow Welcomes (previously Glasgow Service with Style), said the response so far has been “fantastic”.
“It’s very encouraging to see businesses embracing the opportunity to improve their workforce and customer service delivery,” said Callaghan.
