A RECENT trade fundraiser for the victims of the Clutha Vaults helicopter crash has raised more than £16,000.
The benefit, organised by a group of operators and bartenders fronted by Scott Gemmell of LA Group, took place in the Barras Art and Design Centre to raise money for the victims of the Clutha tragedy and their families.
As well as performances from a number of local bands, the event also included a charity auction and raffle. Gemmell said it was “just heart warming for us all to play any part here in bringing people together to celebrate this great pub in Glasgow”.
“We were really all just administrators of the whole event – people were just so willing to give their time, effort and money to help pull this together and raise funds for the appeal,” he said. “The way the industry has stepped up has just been incredible.”
The proceeds from the event went to the Glasgow City Council Clutha Appeal Fund.
