CRIEFF Hydro chief executive Stephen Leckie took the top prize at this year’s Scottish Thistle Awards, run by VisitScotland.

Leckie was presented with the Silver Thistle Award for his contribution to the country’s tourism industry at a ceremony at Stirling Castle earlier this month.
Other winners on the night included Loch Leven’s Larder in the ‘Best Cafe, Bar or Restaurant’ category and the Duisdale House Hotel, which was named ‘Best Hotel’.
Mike Cantlay, chairman of VisitScotland, congratulated all finalists and winners on the evening and said the industry has “a lot to look forward to in 2014”.
“Tourism is riding on the crest of a wave at the moment with accolades coming in from around the world,” he said.
