DRINKS giant Pernod Ricard is encouraging operators and retailers to consider Champagne this Christmas with new activity for its Perrier-Jouët and GH Mumm brands.

Gift packs have been introduced for both brands, while in the on-trade the company is promoting its metalwork ‘Champagne flute tree’ for Perrier-Jouët.
The ‘Enchanting Tree’, which was unveiled earlier this year, has six specially-designed Champagne flutes hanging from its branches, and includes a Perrier-Jouët ice bucket.
On the gifting side, the company has released packs for its non-vintage Grand Brut and Blason Rosé, as well as glassware packs for non-vintage Grand Brut, Belle Epoque Blanc 2004 and Belle Epoque Rosé 2004. Gift boxes have also been released for GH Mumm’s Cordon Rouge NV, Rosé and Millésime (vintage) 2006 Champagnes.
In addition to the gift packs, Pernod Ricard has also updated its ‘Champagne Protocols’ iPhone app. The program, available to download from the App Store, is a guide to serving and drinking Champagne.
