First Drinks, distributor of Mount Gay in the UK, said the new design includes “bolder statements” on the brand’s heritage, such as a map of Barbados.
The bottle is also now engraved, with the font serving as a reference to the hand-stamped barrels from the brand’s past.
Alvin Saal, Mount Gay brand manager at First Drinks, said the new packaging “is an exciting development for the brand”.
“We know that consumers are increasingly looking for quality, craftsmanship and brands with substance,” said Saal.
The new packaging will be showcased later this month at the UK Rumfest in London.
