ORKNEY Brewery has scooped a top national award for one of its beers.
Dark Island Reserve came out top in the Drinks – Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic category at the Scotland Food and Drink Excellence awards 2013.
The beer is created by maturing Orkney Brewery’s Dark Island Ale in aged malt whisky casks.
Norman Sinclair, MD of Orkney Brewery’s parent company, Sinclair Breweries, said: “It was an enormous privilege to be part of such a prestigious event and we’re really delighted to have come away with this award. Dark Island Reserve epitomises all the passion we have for our brewing craft in Orkney.”
