WEMYSS Malts is aiming to spice up the gin category with the launch of a new variant of its Darnley’s View gin.

Described as a small-batch London Dry gin with “warming spice botanicals”, Darnley’s View Spiced Gin is distilled with ten botanicals, with juniper, cinnamon and nutmeg at the fore. The spirit was bottled at 42.7% ABV – a strength that’s said to best present the combination of spice botanicals.
Wemyss Malts consulted a team of gin experts, including distillers, mixologists and Edinburgh-based gin writer Geraldine Coates, on the recipe, which comes two years after the original Darnley’s View was introduced.
Managing director William Wemyss said he is “thrilled” with the firm’s latest product.
“It will provide a unique, yet complementary addition to the Darnley’s View range and bring a new dimension to the dynamic premium gin market,” he said.
