THE first single malt to be fully aged by the owners of Islay’s Bruichladdich distillery has been named the best of 2011 – by Loch Fyne Whiskies.
The Laddie Ten was voted top dram of the year by customers of the specialist retailer after an in-store tasting and much debate.
The ten year old whisky has an ABV of 46% and is distributed by Blavod Drinks.
“Over the years the new owners at Bruichladdich have given us many offerings of many quirky styles but Jim McEwan has not forgotten why they bought the distillery in the first place – it’s such good whisky,” said LFW in a statement.
“With attention and understanding this whisky has matured well – a dram as good and faithful as the best produced at Bruichladdich – ever.”
