A popular neighbourhood restaurant in Edinburgh has launched a new ‘Grandparents Eat Free’ initiative to help kick-start its school holidays season.

Morningside’s McLarens on the Corner is offering grandparents the chance to eat for free when they dine out with their grandkids at the family-friendly venue on weekdays up until 5pm between Friday 28th June and Wednesday 14th August.

The offer gives one grandparent a free main course from the McLarens menu when dining with a full paying grandchild or number of grandchildren.

Since opening its doors on the corner of Bruntsfield and Morningside in 2020, McLarens has established itself as a successful family restaurant, offering a choice of all day menus, both alfresco and indoors, for families and their dogs, with accessible ground floor and first floor spaces and accessible bathrooms.

General manager, Murray Tavendale, said: “At McLarens on the Corner, we pride ourselves on being one of Edinburgh’s best neighbourhood restaurants. We use the best fresh Scottish produce to create delicious, hearty dishes to suit the whole family.

“To help kick-start the school holidays, our new ‘Grandparents Eat Free’ initiative allows grandparents the chance to enjoy a free main course when they dine out with their grandkids on any weekday, including breakfast and brunch.

“If the sun is shining, our garden provides plenty of space for alfresco dining. Four-legged friends are welcome to come along too.”

McLarens is owned and operated by the Edinburgh-based Signature Group, which has bars, restaurants, hotels and a its own brewery, with venues located in Glasgow, Aberdeen, St Andrews and Bridge of Allan, including McLarens on the Corner, Cold Town House, Copper Blossom, The Rutland Hotel, The Huxley and Kyloe in Edinburgh.
