The Incorporation of Maltmen has made a donation of £5000 to Hospitality Health, the industry charity that supports staff and students in the hospitality industry.
Hospitality Health was founded over eight years ago by Gordon McIntyre MBE, and is supported by several organisations through a variety of fundraising activities.
At the cheque presentation, Alastair Day, the Incorporation of Maltmen’s newly appointed Visitor, said: “We are delighted to be able to support Gordon and the team at Hospitality Health to allow them to continue to do the great work they are doing in support of the Hospitality sector.
“We are sure this will help fund several places on their MHFA cert course.”
McIntyre said: “We are extremely grateful to the Incorporation of Maltmen for this very generous donation.
“It will support staff on MHFA certificate courses and go towards the funding required for research and our upcoming neurodiversity training.
“We plan to deliver training that will support managers and supervisors in understanding neurodiversity better,” he explained. “It will allow them to support staff who are disclosing their disorders.”
That neurodiversity training is now in the planning stage, but once fully developed later this year, will be available free online to all in the industry, supported by Tayl, the training platform.
