NYX Hotel Edinburgh is now open on Jeffrey St

Described as one of Europe’s most stylish destination hotel brands, NYX Hotels has just opened its first Scottish location, on Jeffrey Street, in the centre of Edinburgh.

NYX Hotel Edinburgh promises guests a blend of ‘urban style and vibrant city centre energy’, as the brand – part of the Leonardo hotels group – is known for bold interiors and nightlife-inspired social spaces, and its already strong presence in Europe’s cultural capitals.

The hotel, which has created 60 new jobs in the area, is part of a £60million investment in the city, simultaneously expanding the existing Leonardo Royal Hotel site and creating the NYX’s 125 rooms and a brand-new destination bar and restaurant.

Hotel manager at NYX Hotel Edinburgh, Simone Villari, said: “Edinburgh has always thrived on art, music and culture. With NYX Hotel Edinburgh, our ambition is to capture that spirit and create a hotel that feels bold, vibrant, and uniquely Scottish.

“With the Edinburgh Fringe Festival upon us, this is a particularly exciting time to open. The city comes alive with creativity, culture and an electric atmosphere, attracting performers, artists and visitors from around the world.

“That energy is at the heart of the NYX brand, and we’re excited to become part of the experience and welcome guests looking to immerse themselves in everything Edinburgh has to offer.”

NYX Hotel Edinburgh is the latest addition to the brand’s expanding portfolio, with venues in hotspots including Berlin, Dublin, Ibiza, and London.

The Edinburgh hotel is described as the ‘epitome of energy and attitude’, with decadent styling, bold prints, luxurious finishing and quirky design touches throughout.

A standout feature of the hotel is the Clash Bar and Restaurant, with its industrial-chic interiors and bold patterned walls.

As well as signature cocktails, the venue features a diverse all-day menu, and the space will also host weekly DJ sessions from local up-and-coming artists.

The atmosphere of the hotel’s social spaces extends into each of its 125 rooms and suites, which have been designed with a blend of modern aesthetics and Scottish personality in mind.

Managing director at Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland, Jason Carruthers, said: “The opening of NYX Hotel Edinburgh marks an important milestone for us as our fifth hotel in the city and our first NYX Hotel in Scotland.
“This has been a complex and ambitious project, transforming and expanding an existing site to create something truly special in one of the world’s most exciting cities.

“Thank you to everyone who has played a role in bringing this vision to life, particularly Simone, our cluster general manager Claire McLoughlin, and the entire NYX Hotel Edinburgh team, as well as Ciaran Lavery and his design & construction team.

“Their passion and dedication have created a hotel that truly embodies the spirit of the NYX Hotels brand, and we’re excited to welcome guests to experience it for themselves.”
