Beloved cornerstone of Edinburgh’s real ale scene, The Stockbridge Tap, has officially re-opened its doors following a major refurbishment.
The work was designed to strike a balance between modernising the Raeburn Place venue while fiercely protecting the ‘proper pub’ soul that has earned it a dedicated following and numerous CAMRA accolades.
“The Stockbridge Tap has always been more than just a pub,” said new general manager Eilish. “Our goal wasn’t to change what people love about The Tap, but to ensure the environment is as high quality as the beer we pour.
“We have polished the gem, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back through the doors.”
As part of the renovation, the pub’s exterior has been refreshed with an updated colour palette, new signage and improved outdoor terraced seating, whilst inside guests can expect a refined aesthetic, enhanced lighting and updated seating, with a solid oak bar taking centre stage.
But while the surroundings have been polished, Eilish insisted that the core mission remains unchanged, with The Stockbridge Tap continuing it’s commitment to an ever-rotating selection of independent craft beers and world-class real ales from breweries such as Stewarts, Swannay and Arbor Ales.

Alongside those cask ales, The Stockbridge Tap’s refreshed menu offers a selection of local and world beers and a redesigned wine list.
The reopening has also introduced food back into The Stockbridge Tap, with a menu now offering elevated pub snacks like steak frites baguettes, homemade sausage rolls and mugs of mac & cheese.
Ahead of reopening on Thursday 23rd April, Eilish added: “We’ve missed the clink of glasses and the buzz of a busy evening, and we can’t wait to share this refreshed space with the community that make this pub what it is.”
