Blended Scotch Whisky brand Label 5 has renewed and extended its sponsorship of its local football team, Livingston FC.
Produced and bottled at Glen Turner’s Starlaw Distillery in Bathgate – just a few miles from Livingston FC’s ground – Label 5 is described as ‘one of the world’s leading blended Scotch whiskies’, selling in over 100 countries.
Many of the workers at the Starlaw Distillery are loyal fans of Livingston, which prompted Label 5 to sign up as kit sponsor of the men’s first team back in 2023, an arrangement that has now been extended to the Livingston FC women’s team.
The deal includes programme and pitch-side advertising, plus a high-profile presence for Label 5 whisky at the club’s bars and hospitality, ensuring fans can enjoy a highball or a dram on match days and at events.
The brand is also planning a programme of activation including bottle giveaways for new season ticket holders, social media, joint promotions within local supermarkets and support for Livingston’s end of season awards.
Head of marketing for Label 5 owner LMB-UK, Janette Deed, said: ‘We’re thrilled to be going into a fourth season supporting our local club Livingston FC.
“We have some very passionate fans amongst the team at Starlaw Distillery, so supporting a cause that means so much to them and to our local community is of huge importance.
“It’s also a great way for us to raise awareness and celebrate our much-loved Scotch whisky Label 5 – enjoyed the world over but proudly produced just a few miles from Livingston FC’s ground. We’re also very excited to be extending our support to the first-team women’s squad for the first time this year.”
Livingston chief operating officer Dave Black said: “We’re once again delighted to have the support of everyone at LMB-UK for the season ahead – not only with our men’s first-team, but with our women’s first-team this year too.
“We have some exciting plans to work together for the benefit of our supporters in the near future too – driven by the passion of both Glen Turner and the football club to really tap into and support the local community,” said Black.
“I must offer a huge thank you to everyone involved at Glen Turner and Label 5 for their commitment to sponsoring the club for another season, but a particularly special mention to Elaine McAdam whose passion for the club, along with her family, is unrivalled,” he added.
