Stephen Montgomery has announced the sale of his restaurant, Our Place in Annan, as he enters a new chapter focused on supporting the wider industry as director of the Scottish Hospitality Group trade body.
After building and growing Our Place into a successful and well-loved venue, Montgomery has made the decision to dedicate his time fully to the continued development of the SHG, an organisation he describes as a ‘true passion’.

“The Scottish Hospitality Group has seen significant growth over recent years, and we are now entering a critical phase for our sector,” said Montgomery. “Hospitality businesses across the country are facing increasing pressures, and there has never been a greater need for strong representation, clear leadership, and meaningful support for operators.”
Montgomery will now focus on expanding SHG’s reach, strengthening engagement with Governments and policymakers, and working closely with members across Scotland to ensure their voices are heard and supported at every level.

Alongside his work with SHG, he will also be undertaking consultancy within the hospitality sector, offering ‘practical, real world support’ to businesses navigating the challenges of today’s trading environment.
“I remain incredibly passionate about SHG, and hospitality, and look forward to continuing to support the sector in a new way,” he said.
