A group of hospitality professionals will be testing their mettle this month when they climb Mount Toubkal in North Africa.
The gruelling five-day trek, which is in aid of industry charity HIT Scotland, will aim to raise £50,000 to support HIT’s work providing training and development opportunities for people in the industry.
The highest peak in North Africa, Mount Toubkal is an intimidating 4167 metres (13,671 feet) tall.
The intrepid adventurers, led by HIT Scotland CEO David Cochrane, will include representatives from Kinghouse Hotel, hi-hotels, Johnsons Stalbridge, The Maltmen, The Edinburgh Grand Hotel and Radisson Blu Edinburgh.
“HIT Scotland has always been about investing in people, and that’s exactly why I’m taking on this challenge alongside such an incredible group of supporters from across our industry,” said Cochrane.
“Climbing Mount Toubkal will push us physically and mentally, but it pales in comparison to the impact our scholarship programme has on the lives and careers of those it supports.”
