Ardgowan Distillery Company has added a number of new expressions to its Clydebuilt range of bottlings ahead of Burns Night, as the company invests a claimed £5 million into the brand.
Ardgowan, in Inverclyde, began distilling its own whisky in June 2025, but has been bottling and releasing spirit from other distilleries under the Clydebuilt brand for several years.
In the past year the company claims to have invested £5m in mature whisky stocks, with a further £4m planned for 2026.

The new bottlings comprise one blended malt and three single cask single malts.
They include a 27 year old blended malt (incorporating Speyside, Highland and island whiskies) which was matured entirely in sherry oak; a 2009 bourbon hogshead cask from Fettercairn; 2012 bourbon hogshead from Royal Brackla; and a 2014 sherry butt from Ben Nevis Distillery.
All four bottles have been bottled at natural cask strength and without chill filtration or any added colouring.
Each of the casks were selected by Ardgowan distillery manager Laura Davies. She said: “The Clydebuilt brand stands on craftsmanship and pride in quality, just like the Clyde’s former shipbuilders.

“With these new releases, we’ve drawn on exceptional whiskies and incredible, rich casks to create expressions full of character and individuality.
“These malts show just some of the scope we’re working with in our aged stocks.
“Having invested £5m this year in securing stock to lay down for Clydebuilt, there’s a very bright future ahead for the brand.”
Ardgowan CEO, Roland Grain, said the investment in the stock will help the company to double its turnover in the years ahead.

“Our bespoke Infinity Casks for Ardgowan spirit are designed for long maturation by their very nature,” he explained.
“The stock we’ve already acquired, and this further investment, ensure Clydebuilt will have solid foundations for the decades ahead until Ardgowan single malt is truly ready.
“This is a key step in achieving our goal to double turnover annually until 2030.”
