Voco Grand Central in Glasgow Glasgow city-centre’s voco Grand Central Hotel has been named as Scotland’s Leading Conference Hotel at the 2025 World Travel Awards, bolstering its status as one of the country’s premier event destinations.
Located directly beside Glasgow Central Station, the historic hotel received the accolade at the 32nd Annual World Travel Awards, in recognition of its ‘excellence in conference facilities, service, and overall guest experience’.
Grand Central has reportedly enjoyed a record-breaking year, hosting conference and banqueting events for approximately 15,000 delegates from across the UK, at events ranging from national awards ceremonies and corporate conferences to business lunches and charity galas.

Inside the Grand Ballroom Organisations accommodated included the Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland, Women’s Enterprise Scotland, Network Rail, Rolls-Royce, and the University of Strathclyde.
Following a multi-million-pound refurbishment and rebrand in 2021, voco Grand Central Hotel’s meeting and events spaces were transformed to blend its Queen Anne architecture with modern technology and contemporary design.
The hotel now offers eight distinctive meeting and event spaces, catering for everything from intimate board meetings to large-scale conferences.
Its flagship – The Grand Ballroom – is one of Glasgow’s most striking event venues, combining historic architectural features, 21st-century comfort, and abundant natural light.
The hotel also boasts a ‘Conscious Connections’ sustainability package for its events, which plants one tree for every ten delegates and includes unlimited tea, coffee, fresh fruit, and a sustainably sourced lunch.
