Research suggests that Gen Z customers are the demographic most likely to feel ‘paralysed’ when offered multiple options then asked to make a choice.
Thus it is that Glasgow’s newest rooftop bar SíSí has introduced a cocktail expert service to help those indecisive drinkers overcome their decision-fatigue.
SíSí Rooftop, which sits above The Social Hub Glasgow at the Argyle St edge of the Merchant City, has just launched a new cocktail menu that attempts to demystify the category by grouping drinks by flavour, rather than by their constituent spirits.

The hope is that, with this clear signposting and the hands-on guidance of the dedicated expert, guests can comfortably discover something new – then come back for more.
Bar manager George Collinge said: “Getting out and enjoying a cocktail is far too rare a treat for many, so people don’t want to make a mistake.
“We love chatting to guests about what they usually drink and helping them discover something new. That is the fun of a menu like this, because there is something for everyone, whether you want smoky, bright, sweet or savoury,” said Collinge.

“This menu is rooted in Mexicana as a wider cultural movement, not just a flavour profile. It takes inspiration from Mexican traditions and blends them with influences from across the Americas and Hispanic Europe, as well as art, music and visual culture.
“That gives us the freedom to be bold, playful and a bit unexpected with what ends up in the glass.”
Menu highlights include Sandia No.2, a sweet, punchy watermelon-led serve built on Barsol pisco and maraschino; and Coco Maiz, which blends corn, coconut and pineapple using coconut rum and Nixta corn liqueur.

For those drawn to savoury flavours, Dirty Oaxaca mixes tequila, mezcal and white port with notes of sour cream and chive, oregano and Padron pepper; while Santa María takes inspiration from tomato-based serves layered with spice and fresh herbs.
Smokier options include Diablo’s Kiss, combining mezcal with grapefruit and bergamot; and Chupacabra, which layers tomatillo, apple and sumac with chipotle and mezcal.
Meanwhile, 9 Lives brings brightness with pineapple tepache, green chillies and banana; while High Spirits offers a creamy, fruit-forward finish built around prickly pear and strawberry.
