Edinburgh sports bar The Black Bull has been named as the official new away hub for Edinburgh Rugby club.
The capital club has been competing at the forefront of Scottish and European rugby for over a century and a half, and commands a substantial support.
Now, when the team is playing away, The Black Bull will be the centre of attention on match days, driving significant trade its way.
With its convenient city centre location, eight high-definition sports TV screens, and space for up to 260 guests at once, The Black Bull, which is part of the Edinburgh-based Signature hospitality group, will be Edinburgh Rugby’s official venue until the end of the season in May 2026.

Alongside player appearances and special Q&A events, all Edinburgh Rugby season ticket holders can enjoy 20% off their total bill anytime, while any Edinburgh Rugby fans will get 20% off on match days.
General manager at The Black Bull, Gary Temple, said: “We’re really excited to be teaming up with Edinburgh Rugby as their official new away hub for the first time.
“We hope to recreate the buzz of the Hive Stadium in the Grassmarket, where we will be celebrating all things Edinburgh Rugby.
“If The Black Bull knows one thing, it’s sport. We have eight high-definition sports TV screens across the venue and show all of the biggest games for rugby fans to enjoy.
“You focus on the game, and we’ll keep you fuelled with some tasty grub and a pint of our own locally brewed beer.”
Edinburgh Rugby managing director Douglas Struth added: “We’re thrilled to officially welcome The Black Bull into the Edinburgh Rugby commercial family as our new away hub.
“We’ve enjoyed a fantastic long-standing relationship with Signature Group across several of their venues, so it feels like a natural and exciting step to establish our new dedicated home for our supporters in such an iconic city centre location.
“The Grassmarket is the beating heart of Edinburgh, and The Black Bull is undoubtedly one of the best sports bars in the city. It’s the perfect place to recreate that unique Hive Stadium atmosphere when the team is playing on the road,” said Struth.
“For those supporters not making the trip through to Glasgow this Saturday, I’d encourage you to head down to the Black Bull, take advantage of your season ticket discount, and get right behind the boys in what I know will be a brilliant atmosphere.”

To celebrate the new partnership, the team of chefs at The Black Bull has created a new Edinburgh Rugby-themed menu, including Darcy Graham’s Flying Chicken Wings; Schoeman’s Highlander Burger; Skinners Scottish Fries; and The SCRUM–ptious Haggis Bon Bons.
Signature Group has worked with Edinburgh Rugby at some of its other venues around the city for a number of years, including Kyloe, The Queens Arms and Cold Town House.
