CULT breweries from around the world are set to descend on Edinburgh later this month as the Big Swally beer festival returns to the city for its second year.
Taking place on Saturday 25 October at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, the event is organised in partnership by Caledonian Craft Beer Merchant and Edinburgh’s own Vault City Brewing.
This year’s line-up features Vault City, Track Brewing Co, The Kernel, Northern Monk and Rivington Brew Co from the UK; Finback Brewery, Long Live Beerworks and Grimm Artisanal Ales from the United States; plus Garage Beer Co from Barcelona, Brewski from Sweden, Amundsen Brewery from Norway, Seven Island Brewery from Corfu, Sudden Death Brewing Co from Lübeck and Ārpus Brewing Co from Latvia.
The Big Swally has already sold out its day session, but evening session tickets remain.
Colin Gardner of The Caledonian Craft Beer Merchant said: “The Big Swally started in Dunfermline as a way to showcase great beer and bring people together and it has grown beyond anything we imagined.
“Last year’s atmosphere was incredible and to see the day session sell out so quickly again shows just how much people want to be part of it.
“The beer community is very special – likeminded independent breweries just want to help each other and it’s amazing to see. We are looking forward to welcoming breweries and beer lovers from all over the world back to Edinburgh.
“The response from breweries around the world has been phenomenal – there’s really no other beer gathering like this.”
Vault City will use the festival to launch a new Raspberry and Vanilla sour available exclusively to ticket holders.
Attendees can also expect a strong line up of Edinburgh street food traders including @antotitostruck, @fredsbackyardbarbecue and @bia_edinburgh.
