Doing no harm to its reputation as a ‘luxury girls’ escape’, Ayrshire’s Glenapp Castle has taken centre stage in The Real Housewives of London reality show.

The series, from the makers of Made In Chelsea, features Juliet Mayhew, shareholder of the Castle alongside her husband, Antony Mayhew, who serves as director.

The 21-bedroom hotel is a member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux collection and offers ‘exceptional’ bedrooms, including Scotland’s largest Castle Penthouse Suite, fine dining, and premium experiences along the Ayrshire coast.

Glenapp Castle managing director Jill Chalmers said: “Welcoming the cast of The Real Housewives of London was a wonderful opportunity to share the magic of Glenapp Castle – from our breathtaking suites and award-winning dining to the unforgettable adventures that await our guests.

“We’re delighted to see the Castle featured on screen and it was a pleasure to watch Juliet and her friends discover the beauty, spirit, and sense of escape that make Glenapp so special.”

Juliet Mayhew commented: “Glenapp Castle is more than a hotel; it is a destination where heritage, luxury and adventure come together in perfect harmony.

“The way Glenapp Castle seamlessly blends heritage and elegance with purpose and innovation first sparked our interest in investing in hospitality. Hosting the cast of The Real Housewives of London here was truly an unforgettable experience.”

This year, Glenapp Castle celebrates a decade of stewardship under owners, Paul Szkiler and his wife, Poppy and their company Truestone.

Earlier in the spring, they opened The Azalea by Glenapp Castle, a restaurant offering a garden-to-plate experience in the restored 1832 Victorian Glasshouse and Bothy – one of only two in Scotland, alongside Balmoral.

Led by executive chef Peter Howarth, it showcases local lobster, Aberdeen Angus beef, and estate-grown produce for ‘elegant dinners, long-table soirées, or intimate gatherings’.

Complementing the Castle’s 3 AA Rosette restaurant, The Azalea further elevates Glenapp’s culinary reputation, with elegant Afternoon Tea and Champagne also served.

The Castle Penthouse Suite at Glenapp Castle is Scotland’s largest and most luxurious penthouse, blending baronial style with modern comforts. Spanning 418 square metres, this four-bedroom retreat (for up to eight guests) occupies the entire top floor, accessed by private elevator for complete exclusivity.

Inside, four ensuite bedrooms are joined by a sauna, treatment room, library, games and media rooms, period kitchen, and private dining and lounge for 16. A rooftop terrace offers estate views, while a dedicated butler and private chef provide bespoke service, ensuring every stay is ‘inspired, secluded, and utterly unforgettable’.
