Hillhead Sports Club offers new operator full autonomy over F&B

Hillhead Sports Club, in Glasgow’s west end, is seeking a new operator

Hillhead Sports Club, located on Hughenden Road in the heart of Glasgow’s West End, is offering a ‘fantastic opportunity’ for an experienced operator to take the reins of its Food and Beverage operations.

Graham + Sibbald are inviting offers for the leasehold interest of the extensively refurbished facility, described as a ‘turnkey business with significant potential for growth’.

The Hillhead Sports Club has plans to further develop the site with new paddle courts and upgrades to the pitches, which will increase the number of members and, it hopes, ‘future proof’ the site.

The F&B facility includes a spacious café/bistro with 60 covers, overlooking the club’s rugby pitch; a first-floor sports bar with a traditional wooden vaulted ceiling, accommodating approximately 190 guests; and a large, flexible events space capable of hosting over 300 people.

Additionally, there’s a south-facing outdoor terrace with room for 75 covers.

Graham + Sibbald said that the club had a strong and growing membership base, and actively welcomed guests from the wider community.

The site’s new operator will have full autonomy over the food and beverage offerings, including the bistro café, sports bar, and event catering, with the freedom to shape and elevate the culinary direction of the venue.

Surveyor in the Hotel and Leisure department within Graham + Sibbald, Emily Hewitson, said: “This is a remarkable opportunity for a talented and entrepreneurial operator to establish a thriving hospitality hub in one of Glasgow’s most desirable areas.

“With excellent facilities, a loyal customer base, and room to grow, we believe the right partner can truly transform this space into a premier destination.”
