The team behind Scotland’s biggest-selling lager is aiming to help raise spirits during the damp Scottish summer with a major new campaign.
After what has been a fairly mixed start to the season, weather-wise, Tennent’s is helping Scots to ‘brave the summer’ by giving away thousands of pounds-worth of prizes, as well as distributing point-of-sale kits to venues across Scotland.
These kits will give pub customers the chance to win various prizes that include a weekly cash prize of £1885 – in recognition of the year Tennent’s was founded.
A special ‘Rain Cheque ATM’ will also be popping up in various locations suffering particularly dire rainfall through the summer, giving locals another chance to win a cash prize.
To a make a ‘withdrawal’ from the ATM, members of the public need to follow the Tennent’s social channels to track down the pop-up and then figure out a special PIN number.
Senior brand manager Joanne Motion said: “Braving the summer here is practically a national sport.
“As a country, we normally just get on with the fact we can experience four seasons in any one day – but last year was particularly bad.
“We know the positive impact warm weather has on the hospitality industry and we wanted to help do something that would offset the rubbish days this summer while bringing some joy, rain or shine.
“Now we just have to hope the sun comes back.”
